Mickey Mouse Carnival Themed Party

For my son's first birthday we threw him a fun Mickey Mouse Carnival party. What better way to incorporate his LOVE for Mickey Mouse while celebrating the BIG 1.

We started the theme with these fun Mickey Mouse head invitations with pull out party details designed as an admission ticket to the carnival.

As guests arrived they were directed to the Carnival with this cute sign. Get your own personalized sign here
Guests were then greeted at this Ticket Booth my talented Dad made. Each guest was given fun gaming tickets (we didn't actually limit the number of games or anything but the tickets were a fun little detail and the kids loved having them to give at each booth)  Our guests were also given a white decorated handle bag that had a carnival ticket and mickey head with their name on it to put all their game booth goodies :)
Personalized Bags

The Party Table filled with all your favorite Carnival goodies :) And a handmade Mickey mouse head banner layered with accenting paper that read "Gavin Is One"

I made this super fun cake topper for the birthday boy's cake

LOVED the flare that the highchair banner gave See more here

These centerpieces were done in various color combinations scattered on tables

Game, Games,Games

We had a Ring Toss game that my dad made with a piece of wood and some dowels from Lowe's
Bean Bag toss Game and again my amazingly talented dad made this and drew the Mickey Mouse face. I helped with the painting and made the bean bags :)
Spray Away Game using a paper and ribbon foam strip and sealed with Podge Modge and then golf tees stuck into it and ping pong balls for the kids to shoot off the tees.

Crazy Canz game made from old, Recycled Puffs containers filled with sand and glued closed and them spray painted :) Easy and a low cost DIY

We also had a tattoo booth and hired Sparkles the Clown to do face painting and balloon animals which were a huge hit!  Sparkles is AMAZING!!!

Also at each booth every kid was a winner! I bought tons of fun carnival themed goodies from Oriental Trading Company and it all worked out perfect!!!

For our party favors we did fun gumball machines and I made personalized party favor tags that Read "Thanks for celebrating my 1st birthday with me"

Vintage Wine Themed 60th Surprise Birthday Party

A very special lady in my life was turning 60, my wonderful Mother In Law!  Yeah I know most woman do not like their mother in laws, but mine is amazing and I love her oh so much!!
I started brainstorming on ways to give the surprise of the century...and well what a better place then at a local winery in their private barrel room :) She would never see all the guest's cars, suspect a party there and most importantly it allowed us to act as though we had a low key lunch and wine tasting birthday planned for her.  This would be a fabulous birthday surprise for a wonderful woman with the heart of gold. We wanted her to feel as spoiled as we are as having her be a huge part in our lives.  With the help of my Father In Law and our lovely Uncle and Aunt we pulled off the surprise along with 42 of our closest friends and family :)

It was a fabulous day! I had spend countless hours planning this party and making every decoration possible to match this rustic, vintage wine themed party.  The staff at Wilson Creek winery was fabulous and my vision came to life :) Check out their winery here www.wilsoncreekwinery.com
On the welcome table was a hand stained board decorated to match the decor with a lovely label I  made  for all the guests to sign and then afterwards attach to a very yummy bottle of Wilson Creek Riesling wine as a party keepsake for the birthday girl :)  I made flower makers so that it added flare to the table and guests had fun writing with them.

The welcome table also had a letter "K" for Kathy, a vintage planter box filled with Mason Jars and fresh flowers.   I accented a few of the mason jars with some felt and vintage fabric pinwheels I made and accented them with vintage buttons I picked up at a local Vintage Marketplace.

I also had a barrel set up with a cork board collage (I got this idea from Pinterest) with pictures of the birthday girl throughout the years and a fun yarn and felt flower wreath.  She was so shocked! Half the pictures she had never even seen before :)

The surprise! 1, 2, 3 we all yelled SURPRISE and champagne bottles were all popping! She was so shocked she turned around and left, then came back in the room crying and jumping up and down with excitement...It was PRICELESS!!

The special birthday Girl wine glass that we had waiting for her! Get one for your special day here

For centerpieces we kept is simple with a big hurricane vase filled with wine corks and a candle.  The tables were also accented with tealights and a decorated mason jar filled with fresh flowers to add some color...each mason jar was decorated differently and I used vintage fabrics, burlap, ribbon, doillies, lace, felt flowers, and buttons to decorate them all with their own character :) Just realized I don't have any pictures of all the mason jars so I will take one and post it soon!

We all had a fabulous lunch, dessert and of course an endless supply of the finest wine and champagne

Keeping with the Vintage theme I made a fabric banner with a variety of vintage fabrics that read "Vintage 1952" the year she was born

The birthday Girl and I... She was a teary eyed, over joyed mess still in shock here haha
The handmade layered paper banner I made that read "Happy 60th Birthday" visit my shop here

Cake time!! Our Aunt & Uncle got this fabulous designed cake that matched the invitations and well it tasted just as good as it looked :)
It read "Kathy's Vineyard 1952 Private Reserve"
Make a wish!
The cake sat on a decorated wine barrel and sat on a Vintage Coca Cola bottle Crate decorated with a vintage fabric Banner around it.  Cupcakes were topped with vintage paper pinwheels.  Two spray painted wine bottles also accented the cake barrel in coordinating party colors.  See here for the tutorial
Hope you had fun checking out our fun and Vintage Wine Surprise Party!
